AppCloud Update Notifications
Our team of awesome developers works around the clock to improve the Engine Yard product and technology stack. While these improvements are important, our customers have told us that they’d like to learn in advance exactly what will be updated and when. We hear you, so we’re working to improve this process!
As a first step, we’ve rolled out a new Release Notes page where you’ll see information on new features and bug fixes that have been applied to the product. In general, we’ll include three kinds of updates:
- Bug fixes
- Features
- Updates that require action
Bug fixes and feature updates will be informational and will most likely not require action on your end. For updates requiring action, we will make the requirement clear and will describe the steps you’ll need to take before updating your environments. For updates requiring action we plan to notify you three to five business days prior to release.
In addition to our release notes page, we strongly recommend following @eycloud on Twitter. We’ll share tweets here linking you to important new items on the Release Notes page as they are posted.
Also, as many of you may have noticed, we rolled out some dashboard changes earlier this week to provide you with a more application-centric dashboard user experience. We’ll be hustling over the next few weeks to make future design improvements, so stay tuned and let us know what you think. To find out more, check out We’re Getting App-centric, Jina’s recent post.
We’ll continue working to improve this process so that it provides the greatest benefit for everyone. As always, if you have any thoughts or feedback you’d like to share with us, please do!
