Adding Multiple Instances Is As Easy As 1, 2, 3 (or 4 or 5)

As your application grows, the need for space and instances grows along with it. It was often difficult to grow the environment fast enough in order to keep up with the needs of the application, especially if some event prompted a need for more instances immediately. Those days, however, are now the past. With the introduction of our Adding Multiple Instances feature, it is possible to spin up as many instances as needed when that dire need suddenly appears. To take advantage of this dynamic new feature, contact support to enable the feature, then do the following:

1) Simply click the “Add” button

2) Select the number of instances you would like to spin up:

3) At the bottom of the page click “Add Cluster”

It takes a few moments for the new instances to spin-up. Once they are finished, a Chef run will trigger, balancing the environment. No downtime is needed and the new instances will start serving traffic immediately. So it really is as simple as “1, 2, 3” to add as many instances as necessary to handle the increased load on your application.
