Tomorrow: Developing Facebook Applications in the Cloud with PHP
Developing Facebook apps in the cloud has brought with it a variety of tools, platforms and new techniques that allow developers to streamline their workflow and skyrocket their deployment process. Whether you’re a solo developer or a team you can begin implementing these techniques today. In this two part session we’ll look at two key areas; designing or reshaping your development workflow and working with some of the exciting new functionality that Facebook’s Open Graph has to offer. In each session we’ll be doing a walkthrough from start to finish with notes, code examples, live demo’s and tips along the way. During the first session you will:
- Learn how to setup your local development stack
- Introduce revision control using [Git](http://git-scm.com/) and git branching for multiple environments
- Host your code online using Github.com and deploy your application(s)
- Manage and scale your application
In the second part we’ll looking at how you can harness the power of Facebook’s Open Graph, where you will:
- Learn how to create a Facebook app through the developer section
- Build a PHP facebook application
- Integrate with the core experience using Open Graph
- Discover resources and tools to help you develop apps for Facebook
After each session we will do a Q&A to answer as many questions as possible. Of course we’ll also be providing free pizza and beer to keep those minds active. We hope that you’ll be able to join us tomorrow - May 31st and look forward to seeing you.
