Engineering Updates
MySQL 5.6 in Early Access
Percona MySQL 5.6 is in Early Access! MySQL 5.6 has a bunch of cool new features, including enhanced server performance and visibility and insight into user, index, and table activity. See the Percona Server 5.6 site and changelog for more information.
If you have any questions about how to upgrade, or want our professional services team to do an upgrade for you, open a ticket and ask!
A new type of instance
We have also added a new instance type from AWS as an option – currently in early access, which you can enable yourself via the dashboard. The instance types are called “dedicated instances” by AWS, and if you use them you have a physical server dedicated to that instances’ use. Anyone who requires a HIPAA compliant environment must use these instance types. Read more about dedicated instances and HIPAA compliance in our release notes, and open a ticket if you have any questions.
Social Calendar (Come say hi!)
