May 23, 2014: This Week at Engine Yard
Plans are seriously underway for Engine Yard’s developer conference, #Distill14, now in its second year. The speakers’ lineup was just published and we have a sweet discount you can sign up for on the website (but only for a few more days!).

Engineering Updates
We received a fantastic reception to our Magento on Engine Yard launch at the Magento Imagine eCommerce Conference last week! We are offering an optimized stack for Magento Enterprise and Community Editions. Learn more and let us know what you think!
Ruby 2.1 (up to 2.1.2 p95) was shipped into GA this week! You have to be on the Gentoo 12.11 stack to take advantage of Ruby 2.0 forward. Check it out and enjoy!
We’ve also shipped the AWS instance families C3 and M3 into GA.
OpenSSL was bumped in response to some new CVE’s (details in the release notes); Nginx got some enhancements to better handle failure conditions, and New Relic now works better in environments with multiple PHP applications!
There have also been some under-the-hood Gentoo updates to streamline stack installation. You may notice some faster boot times as a result.
All our updates are chronicled in our regular release notes!
