May 30, 2014: This Week at Engine Yard

Happy Friday!

Tasha Drew, Product Manager

Engineering Updates

This week we had a bunch of maintenance work, all of which you can read about in our regular release notes!

We also released a new pricing page that includes the new instance families from AWS, which we anticipate (appropriately) being wildly popular. Don’t worry, we have plans around HVM and R3s too, stay tuned.

Social Calendar (Come say hi!)

Tuesday, June 3rd, 6pm at Engine Yard’s Dublin office: Functional Katas: come learn and write functional code together!

Thursday, June 5th, 6:30pm at Engine Yard’s San Francisco office: Joel VanderWerf stops by to talk about Calvin, fast distributed transactions, modern distributed database system design, and modularity and scalability in Calvin! There will also be pizza. Basically another perfect evening, brought to you by Paper’s We Love Too! and the one and only Ines Sombra, Engine Yard’s lead data engineer.

We recently announced the speaker lineup and just started selling tickets for our developer conference Distill! We’d love to see you there.
